Becoming a mother is discovering strengths you didn’t know you had and dealing with fears you didn’t know existed.

Hello, hello!
It’s been a long time since I last wrote (and I realized even my previous blog on moving to Paris said the same thing 😀 ). As much as I love writing, I haven’t had the time to sit down and write a full post. Though my phone is filled with half-written notes and scattered thoughts for when I write my next blog and here I am putting them together amidst multiple attempts through afternoons, evenings, nights, early mornings, and finally at 11:15 am supervising my 7 week son’s catnap..oh and yes, I should’ve mentioned before, since last year I have been busy preparing and getting my life’s biggest promotion – being a mother! <3
His name comes from the Sanskrit words eka (meaning “one”) and ansh (“part”). Ekaansh symbolizes unity and completeness — and he truly feels like the one who completes our family.
These past seven weeks have been beautiful, chaotic, and completely humbling. From being bossed around by a tiny human to learning something new every single day — baby cues, diaper counts, poop colors, burping techniques, cluster feeding, sleep deprivation, being peed and pooped on, hospital visits, breastfeeding struggles, tiny laughs and coos, tummy time victories — the list is endless.
I always heard that motherhood is tough. But I’m only now beginning to grasp how deeply humbling and yet wildly rewarding it is. And of course, seasoned moms always say: “Newborns are easy… wait till they’re toddlers.” 😬 Honestly, I can already picture Ekaansh in the near future — climbing the dining table, swinging from the curtains, or trying to crawl into the washing machine. I write this with equal parts terror and anticipation!
I want to keep this post short and sweet, but I do hope to write more soon. Next time, I’ll talk a bit about my pregnancy journey — both in general and what it was like being pregnant in Paris. I also want to share my delivery experience, some of the lessons I’ve picked up during the fourth trimester so far along with my experience with breastfeeding — because that deserves its own space entirely! And of course, as time allows, I’ll keep documenting the wild, wonderful adventure that is motherhood.
For now, I see Ekaansh stirring — and that’s my cue to sign off. Until next time ✨
As always, I’d love to hear your questions or thoughts — feel free to share them in the comments below!
